Citizen Science in limnology research: Experience from Lake Tanganyika, Tanzania

Engaging the general public in monitoring water quality using easy, low-cost and simple equipment is showing positive steps to overcome the monitoring challenges faced by many countries. In this article Happiness Anold from Tanzania Fisheries Reasearch Instiutes highlights the work done with local communitites in measuring nutrient levels for phosphates, nitrates ann turbity and then feedback to a central server in the UK for immediate feedback on the measurements.
